Challenge #25

Find a photo that speaks to you!

This is the photo I chose. It is from Futurity.org

I have always known that I wanted to help children. Seeing photos of kids around the ages of my own children just increases this want even more. I would love to work with underprivilaged kids someday. It would be amazing to have "Oprah Money" and be able to go overseas and help people, or to even help the homeless and poor here in America. Not only would I like to work with these children, but in the future I would love to adopt. My heart goes out to them! :(

Our New Addition

Say 'Hi' to Duke, our new Bernese Mountain dog!
Not like I didnt have enough to do every day taking care of a 4yr old, 2yr old, and 3mo old, I lost my mind and told Eric I wanted a puppy! :) He found one and was going to surprise me as a real early birthday gift. We picked him up Weds. Already he is loved by all of us and is a natural part of our family. Landon calls him his new brother. Potty training is going awesome just in the 2 days weve had him. We are taking him out every hour and today he only started to pee on the floor 1 time and I stopped him and took him out. Other than that he has been going outside! :) We LOVE him! :)

Challenge #24

This challenge was to create a tutorial.

Making Tiramisu

(I am still trying to perfect it!)

What you will need.....

2 packages of lady fingers

24oz of marscapone cheese (normally sold in 8oz containers)

2 cups heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup of granulated sugar

3 tbsp of kaluha or rum

1 doubleshot of espresso

cocoa powder

1 egg

1/2 container of cream cheese

1. Start a saucepan 1/2 full of water boiling

2.Once water hits a boil set another pan or a boiler pan on top of it and set the water to simmer.

3. Add 1/2 cup of cream, egg, and sugar to the pan on top and stir it until the sugar is melted and it is all mixed.

4. Put the rest of the cream (1 1/2 cups) into a bowl and whip it until is peaks.

5. Mix the marscapone and cream cheese in a seperate bowl.

6. Add the egg and sugar mixture to the marscapone and cream cheese mixture, and mix it until it is smooth.

7. Then slowly add the whipped mixture to the cheese mixture slowly and whip it together. (Dont over mix because you want to keep as much fluff as possible)

8. Mix the espresso and kaluha together.

9. Pour a small layer in an 8x8 pan.

10. Set a layer of lady fingers in the mixture. The mixture should be soaked up.

11. Then put the whipped mixture on top.

12. Last I take some cocoa powder mixed with a mocha powder and sprinkle it on top.

13. Chill about 4 hours and serve!

Many blessings and changes

Recently we have made some purchases and some changes. I feel so blessed to have the life I do. Of course it is rough at times but you have to take the good with the bad and make it the best possible. We bought a new vehicle, FINALLY! We were driving around just browsing, which we have been doing for almost 2 years now, and we saw a Lincoln Aviator. It was the first vehicle Eric and I actually BOTH loved! We went to the car lot the next day and there were 2 of them and they both had sold, so we were a day late. :( We kept our eyes open for the next few days and finally we found another one at a nearby lot. Dh went right away and test drove it and bought it. A week later we got to pick it up! we love all the extra space with the kids and they love not being cramped.
Also we went yesterday and got the kids a new set of bunk beds, with the staircase and built in dresser, new mattresses, and new bedding. They love it! Poor Presley hated her daybed and would end up sleeping on the floor every night, so we decided they need to move up from crib mattresses and toddler beds and into a "big kid" bed. Landon got Thomas the train bedding on the top bunk and Presley picked out Tinker Bell (she calls it her princesses) bedding for the bottom. They did awesome last night, for their first night, and slept so great!

Challenge #23

Ask a Question!
Well my question is......Why are some people so unhappy?
Some people (and we all know someone) are just so truly unhappy, and are just complete 'Debbie Downers'. No matter what happens in their life they pick it apart and make it negative! I have certain friends who just COMPLAIN, all the time, but yet they do nothing to change it and I dont know if it would matter if they did. Life is too short people, so be happy! If something makes you unhappy do something about it.
One of my favorite songs is "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin, right now I listen to the 'Glee' Version. I recommend everyone who gets in a bad mood (because we all have our moments) listen to this song!

3 months old

I am late on this post because of the move but my baby girl is 3 months old! She is growing so fast and is so precious. She smiles all the time and it melts my heart. Sometimes I wish time would speed up so she would be sleeping thru the night and things would be easier, but then when I pick her up and realize she is bigger or she grows out of a diaper size or an outfit doesnt fit anymore I take it all back and want her to stay little and slow down!

Blog Challange #22

Give advice about something.

I dont consider myself an expert on anything but here are a few of my opinions. :)

1. Dieting, even if you want to lose weight you must still love yourself if for nothing else but what is on the inside, because hating yourself and being depressed is not good motivation. Also spoil yourself every once in awhile.

2. When you are a mom make time for just YOU! Even if it is as small as taking an extra long shower. If you don't take care of yourself how can you take care of others?

3.Take chances no matter what people say. Do what you feel is right. If I did what "everyone else" thought was right I wouldn't be married, have my kids, or have the life that I have and love now!

4. Parenting, we as parents will never be perfect and we all make mistakes but sometimes we do get it just right and those are the moments that we instill something special in our children that they will take with them for life.

5. Hug your kids....all the time! I tell my kids I love them so many times a day I can't count, and hug them repeatedly. What if something happens tomorrow and you wished you could hug them again? I wasn't told I love you by my parents, hardly ever, growing up and now I will tell my kids all the time!

Blog Challange #21

The challange is to let out what is on our minds! What is on my mind is the same thing that has been on my mind a lot recently. I think about family. I feel cheated to have the parents and grandparents I have. Which sounds really harsh, even to me, but that is how I feel! Why do I have a mom with the problems she has, who has caused so much trouble in my life and my siblings lives, and who has never made me feel loved? I know many people are not blessed with a great family, and I am not alone. I do however feel blessed and truly greatful for my brother and sister, and when many other people in our family let us down atleast we have each other! :) I can say going dealing with my parents recently teally has brought my brother, sister, and I closer together.
What has brought this on? My mom's family had a reunion in TN recently and my brother refused to attend, for obvious reasons. This somehow prompted my mom to show up at his house ranting and then to call me and leave me a voicemail saying very hurtful things, which at this point does not surprise me. Then she RSVP's for my sister's baby shower and we find out (the day of the shower) that she has no intention of showing up. She just called to be cruel! WHY?! I ask myself why she does many of the things she does all the time. :(
I will add the shower was beautiful and my sister and baby 'M' were surrounded by love and people who care about them, and my mom missed out on yet another important moment in life, so who missed out?......not us!

Moving home!

We are moving...yet again! This time however, we are hoping it is our final move or atleast for a very long time. We are moving back to our hometown. Going back to where Eric and I grew up, where most of our friends our, and where we will be close to family is a welcome and exciting change! We knew we wanted to be back near family and having our 3rd kid solidified that. Having 2 toddlers and an infant is a definite challenge without a support system. I think some of what they say is true, it does take a village. :) Plus we feel like we miss out on so much. Now I will get to be near friends and have some adult interaction. My sister is having her first child and that is HUGE. After many roadblocks and trying fertility issues, she is having a baby girl in October. I want my kids to grow up with their cousin and I want to be there to spend time with my sister, her husband, and my new niece! This is also much needed for Eric and I, to be able to even have a date night or time alone, even if it is just once a month. It is definitely going to be a journey and in the end I hope it helps give my kids some roots where they are surrounded by a support system where they feel loved and happy! Eric got an awesome new job as a manager working for a farm in Ohio, and in 2 weeks we will be saying goodbye to Kentucky.
